Wind Resource Assessment

The energy produced by a wind turbine is highly dependent on the wind speed. Wind turbines have a specific range of wind speeds at which they operate most efficiently, known as the "cut-in" and "cut-out" wind speeds. When the wind is below the cut-in speed, the turbine doesn't generate power. As the wind speed increases within the optimal range, the power output of the turbine increases proportionally. However, when the wind speed exceeds the cut-out speed, the turbine is shut down to prevent damage.
